The Regulate and Helmsman team headed to Cal Poly Pomona for the Southern California Institute of Food Technologists (SCIFT) Student Symposium, a gathering that brought together the next generation of food scientists shaping how we will eat tomorrow.

Students from four universities — San Diego State, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Northridge, and Chapman University — presented research spanning ingredient innovation, environmental impact, and functional food design. Projects explored everything from how pea protein can be extruded into new textures to how beef and liver respond to various environmental factors. Algae also had a well-deserved spotlight as a natural colorant, signaling its growing potential as a sustainable food dye.

The event highlighted the creativity and curiosity driving food science forward and the bridge between academic research and real-world application.

RegulateCPG at the Plant-Based Symposium

Next month, RegulateCPG will return to Cal Poly Pomona for the Plant-Based Symposium alongside Belal Hasan. Together, they will discuss emerging innovation trends and share how Regulate’s platform is being integrated into university programs to prepare students for the evolving compliance and product development landscape.

By connecting research, technology, and practical tools, Regulate aims to help future food scientists bring their ideas to market faster and with greater confidence.

See you there,
The RegulateCPG Team
